Veracode, a Burlington-based cybersecurity firm, has been granted a new patent on technology that could help prevent flaws and security vulnerabilities in software.
The company had filed a patent application in 2010 and the patent was approved on Tuesday by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
The technology, according to the patent filing, relates generally to the “identification and reporting of flaws in software programs.” It could be the answer to helping prevent flaws in software programs that have garnered much attention in recent months because they have led to major data breaches.
